New Paint Process Promises a Greener Nissan LEAF

It's not secret: drivers from the greater Tulsa area love the Nissan LEAF due to the fact that never requires a single trip to the pump.

Of course, it's one thing for a car like the LEAF to produce zero emissions on the road...but in production? As our Nissan parts and service experts know, that's something else entirely.

Every automaker produces its vehicles at large factories that require quite a bit of energy use to power. This is something that's never going to change, whether the plant is producing a smaller vehicle, like the Nissan Versa, or a large one, like the Armada.

Nissan is, however, looking for new ways to make manufacturing less straining on the environment. What's more, the automaker has already made significant progress.

To be more specific, Nisan recently announced the opening of a new three-wet paint shop at its plant that produces the LEAF. This process promises to reduce energy use (by 30 percent), emissions produced (by 30 percent) and waste created by (70 percent).

And as if that's not enough, the new process is also more efficient. Nissan estimates it will be able to process more vehicles in a shorter amount of time, opening the door for future expansions in the plant's production capacity. This is a smart move, considering the demand for highly efficient vehicles is likely only going to increase.

And why would we say that?

That's a question that may require a trip to 9898 S Memorial Dr. in Tulsa, Oklahoma to see the LEAF in person. Of course, if you're interested in any other new Nissan, we're happy to set you up behind the wheel for a test drive.
